The problem with everyone’s theory on Granola is that if he becomes an angel again then the moment he attacks someone, Zeno or the Grand Priest can simply erase him like Meerus

Angel theory: I have this idea that "angels" are a status and the only REAL angel is the Grand Priest. Whis mentions being his son and I think its because the GP made him an angel. I think beings who are capable on multiple levels can be promoted to the angel status. Beside Whis and Vados, all the angels look very different. So my theory is Merus was one of those beings that was eligible to become a full fledged angel, but he either choices not to or because there was no need for him (no destroyer to serve since every current universe has an angel) and this is a stretch....but I think Goku will be offered the angel status....I just don't see how that'll fit in edit: I forgot to mention that this chapter has shown us a LOT of stuff about how angel/god power can be manipulated by the GP
